Summer is Better at Soaky Mountain Waterpark

Soaky MountainEvery year as soon as school ends, my kids make a summer bucket list. And, every year Soaky Mountain is one of the first places they write down. So, I was thrilled this year when I found out that Soaky Mountain was hosting some of our team. Soaky Mountain Waterpark is located in Sevierville, Tennessee.

When we got there, we set up camp at one of the amazing cabanas. It was so nice to have a spot to put all our stuff and to take a break from the sun when we needed it. The ceiling fan kept it nice and cool, and the kids loved lounging on the comfy couch and chairs. Plus, when it came time for lunch, we were able to easily order from our cabana with the push of a button. As moms, being able to relax while someone else took care of lunch was amazing.

CabanaSoaky Mountain truly had something for all the kids to enjoy. The older kids headed off to ride the big rides first. Of course, they wanted to ride Soaky Mountain’s newest ride, The Rafter’s Rage, first.

Rafter's RageIt’s an up to six person raft ride that launches from eight stories high and sends you speeding down 825 feet of twisting turns at nearly 20 mph! It has four uniquely designed arcs that allow your raft to accelerate sideways as you make your way down a slide with a kaleidoscope of colors and interior lights. It was so much fun! The kids all loved it and thought the ride was very smooth.

Rafter's RageSome of the other crowd favorites were Slippery Salamanders and Splash & Furious. Slippery Salamanders is a double laned obstacle course where you can test who has the best balance and Splash & Furious is a four lane mat racer slide. Everyone had a blast competing against each other.

SalamandersWhile some of the group was enjoying the thrill rides, my four-year-old had a blast at “The Hive”. It’s an area that’s ideal for younger kids with shallow water and lots of smaller slides. It also has several water-spraying and play features that are sure to get you soaked and cooled off. It was fun watching her get to feel like a “big kid’ on slides that were perfect for her.

The HiveTowards the end of our day, we decided to check out Coyote Springs. It’s a pool where kids can swim without waves or slides. The kids were able to play and us moms got to relax poolside for a little while.  It even has a specially designed shelf around the pool that makes sitting and watching the kids play easy and comfortable.

Since no trip to Soaky Mountain would be complete without a sweet treat, we got Dippin’ Dots at the end of our visit. It really hit the spot after a day of water and sun.

We had such a fun day. The kids all left excited about the rides they tried and us moms, loved the laid-back vibe, clean facilities, and the lifeguards who took their jobs very seriously to ensure safety. We can’t wait for our next visit!
