If you ask us where to spend a fun day in Nashville that feels polished, stylish, and full of options, Green Hills is always high on the list. This area has a little bit of everything: luxury shopping, local favorites, cozy cafés, beautiful spaces, and enough stops to fill an entire day. Whether you’re running errands, meeting a friend for lunch, or treating yourself to something special, Green Hills always delivers.
Shopping for Every Mood
One of the biggest reasons we love Green Hills? The shopping is unmatched. The Mall at Green Hills is the go-to destination when you want everything in one place. From everyday favorites to designer splurges like Louis Vuitton, it’s the kind of mall where you can grab a quick gift, update your wardrobe, or simply browse for fun. My teen did a birthday shopping party and they had a blast!
Just down the road, Hill Center Green Hills offers an open-air shopping experience with some of our favorite stores including Anthropologie, lululemon, Pottery Barn, West Elm, Kendra Scott, and Whole Foods Market. It’s walkable, pretty, and ideal for an afternoon stroll.
If you’re feeling fancy and free, Restoration Hardware is an experience all on its own. Even if you’re not shopping, wandering through the gorgeous displays feels like stepping into a dream home. They also offer a full service restaurant, which I’ve visited for our Annual Christmas girls lunch and it was awesome- make sure to make a reservation, and checkout the dress code.
Our Favorite Food & Drink Stops
Green Hills knows how to do lunch, brunch, and happy hour right.
Greenhouse Bar is one of our favorite hidden gems. Set inside an actual greenhouse filled with plants, it feels magical the moment you walk in. It’s perfect for brunch, lunch, or an evening cocktail with friends.
True Food Kitchen is another go-to for fresh and healthy lunch options and cocktails in a bright, modern setting.
Need an after-work spot? Green Hills Grille is an old-school solid choice for winding down after a long day. Their happy hour specials bring in locals every day of the week!
For breakfast, Fox’s Donut Den is a true local icon. No-frills (literally, they do not even have a website, or I’d link it), nostalgic, and absolutely delicious—it’s the kind of place locals have loved for years. Oftentimes the owner is perched in a corner enjoying breakfast and camaraderie himself!
And if pastries are more your thing, Little Gourmand is a charming French-owned bakery full of delicate treats. Do not leave without trying the macarons.
Unique Finds & Creative Spaces
Green Hills isn’t just chain stores and restaurants—it also has personality.
Kendra Scott Color Bar is such a fun experience where you can design custom jewelry and create something uniquely yours. Pro tip: Go in your birthday month and get a discount!
Brushfire Pottery is a creative local gem offering pottery classes and handmade charm. It’s a great reminder that Green Hills has artistic soul, too.
Book lovers should always make time for Parnassus Books, one of Nashville’s most beloved independent bookstores. It’s cozy, curated, and full of personality.
No Green Hills roundup is complete without mentioning The Bluebird Cafe. This legendary venue offers intimate listening-room performances and unforgettable songwriter nights. It’s one of those places that reminds you why Nashville’s music scene is so special.
Why We Keep Coming Back
Green Hills feels elevated without being stuffy, polished without losing charm, and convenient while still feeling fun. Whether you’re shopping, grabbing lunch, discovering a new favorite store, or ending the day with drinks, it’s one of those Nashville neighborhoods that always gives you a reason to return.
