What Shows I’m Watching Instead of Folding Laundry

0

There are two kinds of TV in my house.

The shows I literally can’t stop thinking about (the ones I plan my evenings around)…and the ones that have stayed with me long after the credits rolled. If you’re looking for your next binge, here’s what’s currently taking over my watchlist.

My Current Obsessions

Love Island USA (Peacock)

My current personality trait.

Every night, my teenage daughter and I pile onto the couch with every snack we can find and watch Love Island USA. It’s become our favorite summer tradition. We laugh, make predictions, debate who’s being messy, and somehow get way too emotionally invested.

If you’re already caught up, start Love Island UK on Hulu. The seasons are longer, the accents make the drama even better, and there’s plenty to keep you occupied until the next USA episode drops.

Running Point (Netflix)

I started this expecting a light comedy and ended up loving every minute of it. It’s witty, quick, and one of those shows that’s easy to binge in a weekend.

House of the Dragon (HBO)

If you love big-budget fantasy with political drama, complicated families, and dragons, this one delivers. Every episode somehow leaves me wondering how I’m supposed to wait another week.

The Testaments (Hulu)

If The Handmaid’s Tale pulled you in, you’ll want to watch this continuation. It’s one of those shows that makes you immediately hit “Next Episode.”

The Bear (Hulu)

Stressful? Yes.

Worth it? Absolutely.

Now that The Bear is in its final season, I’m even more invested. The fast pace, incredible acting, and emotional moments make it one of the best shows I’ve watched in a long time.

Ashlee Lowry
In 2023 my family traded in our flip flops for cowgirl boots and made the move from the Alabama Gulf Coast to Nashville with my husband, (Ben), two girls (Collins and Quinn), our big fluffball (Lionald) and our humble turtle (Shelly). I went from an in-office setting literally on the beach, to a work-from home setting in the music city and could not be happier with the change. We love to shake things up, experience new things and enjoy new perspectives. I am an extreme optimist, a daydreamer, a full time Marketing professional, a part-time writer, and a “whenever I can” adventurer! I like to think of myself as a free spirit, but realistically motherhood most often times binds me to a solid plan and scheduled days. I drink way too much caffeine and am a certified drink goblin (One for caffeine, one for hydration and one just for fun!) Being a mom most oftentimes demands behaviors such as going out in public and being social, but my favorite place in the world is on my couch. As a marketing professional I love telling stories. I enjoy sharing adventures, tips, tricks and my favorite mom-approved places to visit, experience, and see! I cannot wait to share my perspectives and opinions with this community and I look forward to connecting with other Nashville moms in our new home.
