Life is full of obligations, so when the opportunity for fun comes along, I take full advantage of it. From getting pampered at a head spa to glamping, I explored some of Nashville’s most delightful experiences this fall. Here’s how it all unfolded:
Van Lew Head Spa: A Journey to Relaxation
My first stop was a visit to Van Lew & Co. This full service salon and spa is anything but ordinary. This hidden gem specializes in scalp treatments that feel luxurious yet intentional. I did the Scalp Focus Experience which revives and refreshes your scalp, leaving it healthy and in pristine condition- My masseuse, Elle was wonderful and offered a very calming, non judgemental presence, amplifying the experience. She took a strong magnifying tool and showed me the before and after. It also included all the “good stuff” like a cranial massage, hand massage, deep conditioning and overnight magic hair serum. The relaxing environment, combined with expert techniques, left my hair and scalp feeling revitalized. Who knew a little TLC for your head could set the tone for an incredible week?
This mini fall break getaway was a recommendation from the Nashville Moms website! We chose glamping because we are not “outdoors-y” people. My tween literally is a vampire and turns to stone when she sees the sunlight so we had to be careful to choose something we would all enjoy. The spot I chose is Tennessee Glamping. It offered all the comforts of home, but with a front-row seat to nature. Think cozy beds, fairy lights, and s’mores by the firepit. It was the perfect balance of adventure and relaxation. We loved the unique dome shaped property, the hot tub and the modern touches throughout. The attention was in the details, from the stocked puzzles, board games and the most trendy books from BookTok to an adorable projector which projected a starry night on the roof of the dome. It even featured a fully stocked coffee bar, and cozy robes for ultimate comfort. We also loved the solo firepit on the chilly evenings and the beautiful views of Centerhill Lake. Every member of our family enjoyed it and my tween didn’t turn to stone so it was a win in my book, and I’m already planning my next escape!
Beach Getaway to The Beach Club by Spectrum Resorts
This is not in or around Nashville, but my visit to The Beach Club Resort and Spa is worth a mention becuase of how amazing it was. We did nearly everything on this “6 Things to ross Off Your Beach To-Do List This Fall” blog that I found on the Spectrum Resorts website, from enjoying the incredible weather on the beaches, and the CBD massage at The Spa at the Beach Club to the super fun resort activities and a beachside campfire. Make sure to book through Spectrum Resorts to get the full benefits of your stay, including discounts at the various shops and dining locations on-site and charging privileges with the SpectrumBand. Going into winter the crowds will thin even more, and rates will drop significantly but there’s still plenty to do in and around The Beach Club Resort and Spa. My favorite winter events are The Polar Bear Dip at the legendary Flora-Bama, and a newer festival that’s making waves- the Fort Morgan Oyster Fest right here at The Beach Club!
Cheekwood Harvest was like stepping into a fall fairytale. Pumpkins in every size and color adorned the gardens, and the seasonal flowers were stunning. I wandered through the scarecrow trail and snapped too many pictures to count. It’s the kind of place that makes you fall in love with autumn all over again. We especially loved the model train area and the Japanese Garden. We also took a stroll through the mansion which was like stepping back in time.
Lip Lab: Crafting My Perfect Shade
As someone who loves a good beauty moment, visiting the Lip Lab downtown was a dream come true. I got to create my very own custom lipstick, choosing everything from the shade to the finish and even the scent. The experience felt personal and creative, with your own personal assistant to help you curate the perfect color. I walked away with a color that I’ve already dubbed my new signature. I ended up with a gloss, lip balm and lip stick and love them all!
Hello Kitty Truck: Nostalgic Fun
The Hello Kitty Truck made its stop in town, and I couldn’t resist checking it out. From the adorable merch to the themed treats, it was a nostalgic delight. I grabbed a couple of goodies for myself and some for friends because who doesn’t love a little Hello Kitty magic? The truck brought back childhood memories and added a playful touch to my week. The menu is limited and sells out very quickly so I’d recommend going right when they open if they come to town in the future. It was also Hello Kitty’s 50th Anniversary so they were offering special 50th Anniversary commemorative items this go-around. To track the location of the Hello Kitty Café Truck follow their Facebook page!
I had to try out the brand new food/drink truck in Nolensville, located behind Still Water on Nolensville Pike. This is the perfect spot for a quick sweet treat. Their menu includes crazy popcorn mixes filled with anything you could desire, from traditional flavors to untraditional mixes like the “what’s the dill” which features dill popcorn, sunflower seeds and pretzels. Another unique flavor is the “Unicorn Sky” which features vanilla popcorn, gummy unicorns and hearts, and gummy nerd clusters. They also have hand made soda combinations that will give you big eyes! My drink of choice was the “tropical twist” which contains sprite, orange and pineapple syrups and coconut cream. It went perfectly as a mixer with my girls night concoction. They also have some incredible hot chocolate choices such as the “nutcase” which features Nutella and whipped cream and the “campfire” which has toasted marshmallow and whipped cream. I also love that on chilly nights they have a campfire going so you can stay a while and enjoy your treats. It was the perfect pick-me-up during my busy week.
