Can you believe that school is starting this week!?! Until recently, I’ve been waiting on baby #3 to make her appearance and trying my best to avoid the summer heat at local pools, splash pads, and natural watering holes… and sadly, many of these summer treats will be closing soon as the season ends. We’ve put together our annual round up of summer activities, listed in the order of their final day this year.
- Through August 7: Wave County (weekdays)
- August 8: Tomato Arts Festival – East Nashville
- August 9: Last day Nashville Shores is open every day of the week (still open weekends)
- through August 15: Summer Reading Challenge – Nashville Public Library
- August 28: Last Kroger Safari Friday at the Nashville Zoo (BOGO admission!)

- August 28: Last summer program at Shelby Bottoms Nature Center
- August 29: Last summer program at Warner Park Nature Center
- August 29: Last Centennial Park Big Band Dance
- September 1: Last day for Cumberland and Kirkland Spray Parks
- September 3: Last home game for the Nashville Sounds
- September 5: Zzzzoofari Slumber Party at the Nashville Zoo
- September 6: Last day Mt. Juliet Ava’s Splash Pad
- Through September 7: Wave County (Sat & Sun only)
- September 7: Last day for Wave Country!
- Through September 7: Last day to swim outside at YMCA pools
- Thurs nights through Sept 10-12: Metro Nashville’s Live on the Green concert series
- Through September 13: Nashville Shores (hours vary by day!)
- September 30: Cooks Recreation Area on Percy Priest
- October 4th: Last Jazz on the Cumberland (monthly event)
