With Nashville becoming one of the largest Fourth of July destinations in the country, you are sure to find lots of events to celebrate the red, white, and blue! Here are a few suggestions around town for you and your family to enjoy:
Let Freedom Sing
Let Freedom Sing is the biggest event Nashville has to offer on the Fourth. Hosted downtown, you are sure to find lots to do for kids and adults of all ages!
Starting at noon, be sure to head over to the Wyler’s Light Family Fun Zone at Music City Walk of Fame Park. It is free and open to the public until 10pm. Inflatables (only up until 5pm), face painting and games will be available to all. Stay and take a seat here to enjoy the big show because screens will be available to view the fireworks show.
If you are more daring and want to brave the bigger crowds, head on down to the riverfront and grab your spot. Here you can enjoy live music from Chris Janson, Lady Antebellum, the Nashville Symphony and more! Be sure to stay and watch the beautiful fireworks display over the Cumberland! If you haven’t been, it really is something you should put on your bucket list, at least once. This event is totally FREE!
Hot Chicken Festival
Before you enjoy a night full of fireworks, be sure and head to East Nashville’s East Park for your fix of some world famous hot chicken! This year highlights the 11th year of this fun event, and it is completely free to the public! Beginning at 10:30 a.m., bring the kids out to enjoy the Fire Truck parade (route is down Woodland Street). Gates open at 11 a.m. and if you are one of the first 500 people in line, you can get free hot chicken samples! If you aren’t the first in line, don’t fret, you can still enjoy some delicious chicken. Local hot chicken restaurants and Yazoo beer are all available for purchase on site. Live music can also be enjoyed and this is a rain or shine event that is open until 3pm.
Franklin on the Fourth
If you are looking for events outside of the city, drive down to Williamson County and enjoy Franklin on the Fourth. This event begins at 10 a.m. in historic downtown Franklin. This event includes live music, food vendors (roasted corn on the cob, YUM!), crafts, antique cars and a kids zone! (Don’t miss the children’s parade starting at 5pm — lineup begins at 4:45pm!) There’s also an antique car show this year. This event ends at 8 p.m., however you can drive down the road to the Park at Harlinsdale Farm and enjoy the fireworks display to being at 9 p.m.
Red, White, & Boom at Adventure Science Center
Bring the kids out to the Cumberland Science Center for an awesome educational experience, mixed with fun of course! This is a ticketed event, and admission includes entry into the museum, demonstrations and activities, a music laser show (additional cost) and downtown fireworks viewing from the museum lawn. Food options will be available for purchase or you can bring a picnic to enjoy! SOLD OUT!
