As a mom, I’ve learned that slowing down and recharging isn’t a luxury, it’s survival. Between school drop-offs, endless to-do lists, and trying to remember if I drank water today, carving out time for myself matters. When I finally get the chance to truly relax, these are the spas I keep going back to. If you’re looking for tried-and-true spots around Nashville, these are my personal favorites.
Woodhouse Spa
Woodhouse is my go-to when I want a classic spa day done really well. From the moment I walk in, everything feels calm, cozy, and intentional like someone else has officially taken over my responsibilities for a few hours (bless).
I love that I can choose from massages, facials, or body treatments depending on what my body is begging for that day. The relaxation room alone is worth the visit… and then there are the complimentary mimosas, which immediately told me I was in the right place. That alone spoke my language.
I was initially nervous to try a deep tissue massage, but it ended up being exactly what I needed. My massage therapist checked in often, adjusted the pressure perfectly, and made me feel completely at ease. I left feeling loose, relaxed, and wondering why I don’t book this more often.
Perfect for: a solo reset, a moms’ spa day, or a “don’t talk to me for the next three hours” kind of afternoon.
Van Lew & Co Headspa
When I want something a little different (and insanely relaxing), I book a headspa treatment at Van Lew & Co. I didn’t realize how much tension I was holding in my scalp, neck, and shoulders until this experience — and wow.
The appointment includes a before-and-after microscopic look at your scalp, which was honestly fascinating (and satisfying). Once I was settled into the chair, the head shower turned on and I enjoyed a 30-minute head and neck massage that can only be described as pure bliss. I don’t think my brain has ever been that quiet.
I left feeling refreshed, calm, and mentally reset — like I had just taken the best nap of my life without actually sleeping. If you’re overstimulated, exhausted, or just need someone else to take control for a bit, this is such an underrated form of self-care. Bonus: they also have a full salon with amazing stylists, so you can knock out multiple things in one visit.
Southall Spa at Southall Farm & Inn
Southall is where I go when I need a true escape. My husband and I visited for our wedding anniversary and were completely blown away. It’s a short drive from Nashville, tucked into Franklin farmland, but it feels like another world entirely.
You don’t have to stay overnight to use the spa, but if you do, you’ll get access to incredible amenities like the mineral pool, sound bath, and more. I booked a facial while my husband enjoyed a Swedish massage, and both were absolutely heavenly.
One of my favorite parts was the sound meditation. Picture the most relaxing room you’ve ever seen, paired with soothing sounds and guided meditation — I genuinely didn’t want it to end. Add in complimentary snacks, tea, water, a heated outdoor mineral pool, and a traditional outdoor swimming pool with full-size bed cabanas, and you have the definition of rest.
Southall is the kind of place that forces you to slow down (in the best way). It’s perfect for special occasions, a wellness weekend, or anytime you really want to pour back into yourself.
