It’s finally fall, so let’s all defy the weather and decorate our homes and our refrigerators with fun (and super easy!) fall crafts to convince ourselves of the fact.
Materials:
- White Construction Paper
- 1 Pack of Orange Pipe Cleaners
- White Plain Paper Plates
- Orange, Yellow, Red, Green, and Brown Craft Paint
- Paint Brushes
- Foam Craft Balls
- Silk Flowers and Fall-ish Décor (silk butterflies, leaves, berries, pumpkins, etc)
- Festive String or Ribbon
- Hot Glue Gun
- Spray glitter paint (or hair glitter)
Craft 1: Thumb Print Trees
This one is pretty simple and great for the senses. My little one and I painted brown tree trunks on our white construction paper first and then painted our hands green to make the branches! It’s messy fun but feels amazing too! Stamp your hand print to create the branches and let dry. Rinse your hands with warm soapy water to remove the green. Dry. Then use your finger tips or thumb print dipped in the Fall paint colors to create the look of leaves.
Craft 2: Hanging Candy Corns
Since you’ve got all that wonderful craft paint out from making your thumb print trees, now is a great time to move on to the hanging candy corn décor. Grab those plain white paper plates and start painting the outside ring yellow and let dry. Then, paint the next inside portion orange, leaving plenty of white left at the bottom (middle portion of the plate). Let dry and then cut into triangles and round the white bottoms to make the candy corn shape. Hole punch the top for you to lace through some decorative string/ribbon or, orange pipe cleaners instead. Hang where desired. These cuties also make great gift tags too!
Craft 3: Fall Floral Décor (for table or for hanging)
Children will need parental supervision for this one because you’ll need to hot glue a few items to this craft. Begin by hot gluing festive string to the top of the floral foam ball (distance apart is about ½ inch or less. Tie a knot at the top of the string to give it a more rustic look. Stick desired silk flowers in all around the ball making it look full, and last insert the extra Fall garb such as pumpkins, leaves, berries or butterflies. You can even hot glue a butterfly to the string to make it appear like it’s flying. These floral balls look cute without the string just gathered in a basket on the coffee table too. *To make it EXTRA festive, I like to use spray on glitter paint or hair glitter and make the flowers really sparkle!
