It is almost apple picking season, and that means it is time to head out to your favorite orchard from some delicious apples. Summer apples are ready to be harvested starting in early August, while autumn apples are ready later in the year, starting in early September.
We have gathered a list and details of some orchards near Nashville, so that you and your family can start planning to visit. Apples are the perfect fruits for making lots of yummy treats!
Apple Picking Orchards in the Nashville Area
Morning Glory Orchard
7690 Nolensville Rd.
Nolensville, TN 37135
Morning Glory Orchard is located just outside of Nolensville and offers many different items. They are a small, second-generation farm and a few of their other products include honey, peaches, cherries, vegetables, jams and preserves. They have many different varieties of apples, available July-September, so now is the perfect time to shop some apples from them. While there, check out the apple cider donuts, only available on Saturdays in the fall. Be sure and check their website for accurate opening days/times and what is in season.

Breeden’s Orchard

Breeden’s Orchard has been open and operating since 1974! They are currently open Wednesday-Saturday, with a night market on Friday nights as well. They have fresh produce, baked goods, gifts and more available. They have a 12-acre peach and apple orchard, and have fun events such as weekend cookouts, and story time! *Note for the 2025 and 2026 Season: Our apple trees are still maturing and will be ready to pick by 2027. We still have plenty of fall activities, and apples for purchase. Please see our FAQs for recommendations on other orchards to visit for picking.
Shade Tree Farm & Orchard

Located about 45 minutes northwest of Nashville, you will find Adams and the Shady Tree Farm & Orchard. The owner, farmer Tom Head, began his dream of farming in 1983. He started with vegetables and tobacco, and now has 140 acres. This includes apple trees, peaches, pears, and blueberries.
They have a gift shop with jams, jellies, sauces and other goods. They even serve lunch! They also offer a wonderful educational field trip experience for kids, so this is a great trip to look into, especially if you home school your kiddos.

Williamson Family Farm

The apple orchard, consisting of over 8,000 carefully selected trees, was planted between 2023 and 2024 with a long-term vision of producing Organic Hard Cider. The selection process for our orchard trees involved considering several critical factors, including our climate, hardiness zone, disease pressure, labor, and materials.
Our selected apple varieties, chosen for their suitability for cider production, disease resistance, and adaptability to our climate, include Liberty, Crimson Crisp, Pink Lady, Gala, Gold Rush, Ashmead’s Kernel, Roxbury Russet, Arkansas Black, Freedom, and Porter’s Perfection.

Scott’s Orchard

Right over the Tennessee state line in Alabama, you will find Scott’s Orchard.
*Fall Apple Season (September-December): Peak season brings the full farm experience with an extensive apple variety, fresh-pressed cider, and seasonal autumn treats. Special pick-your-own apple days are offered in September and October – advance reservations are recommended for potential discounts.
*Winter/Spring Hours (January-May): Limited Friday and Saturday hours (10am-5pm) feature frozen cider, homemade jams and jellies, local honey, molasses, and seasonal produce. Since hours can vary, calling (256) 828-4563 ahead of your visit is recommended.
Accessibility & Guest Services: The farm welcomes visitors of all abilities with full accessibility features. A wheelchair-accessible ramp at the main entrance provides easy store access, and knowledgeable team members are always available to assist guests during their visit. Visitors who need assistance can either call ahead or simply honk their horn in the parking lot for help.
Six customer restrooms are available during business hours, including a dedicated nursing room equipped with a baby changing station. For specific accessibility questions or to arrange special assistance, guests can call (256) 828-4563.
Jackson’s Orchard

Jackson’s Orchard is a 105-acre farm and has been an orchard for over 100 years.

Apple Fest is during Labor Day Weekend, Saturday, August 31 – Monday, September 1. Per their website: “Saturday through Monday, sweet, crisp fall apples and everything that goes with them are the highlight of the day. Not only are we picking some of your favorite fall apples . . . Jonathan, Golden Delicious, Gala & Fuji but we will be giving you free tastes of many of our other apple products like our butters, sauces, salsas and more! Also the playground is open ($3 ages 4-21) and the goats and other animals can’t wait to see you!”
2025 Pumpkin Festival – 5 Fall Weekends
Beginning Saturday, September 27: The month of October brings lots of excitement to the Orchard. With Halloween approaching, the color is Orange! You’ll find family fun for six weekends before Halloween. That means Wagon Rides to the Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze, Pick-Your-Own Pumpkins, Pick-Your-Own Apples, Petting Zoo, Pony Rides, The Goat Ranch, and The Cider Slider, our Children’s Slide. Not to mention all the Great Food including our Ky Proud BBQ!
