Welcome to Summer at Sumner 2026! It is a long-standing tradition for our school to offer fun and engaging summer camps throughout the month of June.
Camp themes include Barbies and Superheros, Daydream Island drama camp, singer/songwriter and more! Campers can expect to participate in fun and unique activities while building long-lasting relationships and confidence.
Camps typically run from Monday – Friday with one or two sessions. Please see each individual camp for specific times and session offerings.

YMCA Day Camps
Location: 102 Bluegrass Commons Blvd, Hendersonville, TN 37075
YMCA day camps inspire kids ages 5-12 (must have completed kindergarten) to learn and play together. With new exciting themes every week, your kids will try new activities and experiences, and simply enjoy being themselves all summer long.

Historic Rock Castle Camps

Camps at Historic Rock Castle are a fun way to get your kids engaged with history without the drudgery! In 2026, we will be offering 6 weeks of themed Day Camps in the summer! While some Camps have a Literary/Pop-culture theme, our counselors will be sharing the history of Rock Castle and the formation of the State of Tennessee with our campers each week. Our hope is that by creating fun, lasting memories for our campers and their families — memories that they can look back on fondly for years to come — we will be helping to raise up a new generation of community builders who love the history of Rock Castle and the amazing community in which it rests. No matter where life takes our campers from here, it is our sincere hope that they will look back fondly on their Castle Camp adventures—and return often to soak in the nostalgia of their happy memories. American Girl Camp:
American Girl Camp is one of our longest-standing and most loved Camps. And this summer, we are offering TWO weeks of this cherished tradition (one in June, one in July). Through crafts, games, songs and activities, campers will explore what being an American girl has meant from our earliest history up to today.
Dates: June 8 – 11, 2026 & July 27 – 30, 2026
NOTE: Campers will NOT be in the Lake for JUNE American Girl Camp, but will have water games — slip n slide games, etc — each day, weather permitting

Frontier Camp:
our longest running and most popular camp, Frontier Camp takes your camper back in time to live the life of a frontiersman/frontierswoman like Daniel & Sarah Smith, the founders of Rock Castle.

Revolutionary Adventure Camp:
The newest addition to Rock Castle’s Heritage Camp series, Revolutionary Adventure Camp will immerse your camper in the world of early America, where they will learn the skills – both physical and mental – that helped the brave men and women who built our Nation to survive and ultimately win the War for Independence.

Mythology Camp:
Based on the popular Rick Riordan series, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, campers can come and experience a demigod summer, complete with quests, singalongs, and crafts.

Survivor Camp:
campers will put their physical and mental abilities to the test through team challenges of strength, endurance, and puzzle solving.

U.S. Baseball Academy’s Summer Training program is a great opportunity for players to continue their skill development in a fun-filled environment.
Camp will run four days featuring instruction during the morning focusing on hitting and defense. The afternoon session will focus on situational baseball games, competition drills, and a Wiffle Ball World Series. We will have prizes for winners and all participants will receive a t-shirt and camp certificate.
Andre Toliver will direct the summer baseball camp in Hendersonville, Tennessee, in conjunction with U.S. Baseball Academy. Baseball training available for players ages 7 – 14. Space is limited.

Camp Twigs Sanders Ferry

Nestled in a picturesque 70-acre park in Hendersonville, along the shores of Old Hickory Lake, this camp is dedicated to unveiling the wonders of the great outdoors. Picture your days filled with paddle boarding on the serene lake, engaging in the excitement of geocaching, perfecting your aim in archery, and reveling in the joy of play amidst vast grassy fields. Camp Twigs Sanders Ferry offers a delightful playground, a gaga-ball court, and a spacious pavilion where kids can indulge in games and crafts.
What sets Camp Twigs apart is our belief in empowering kids to take charge of their own adventure. While our counselors are on hand for support and guidance, the day unfolds with an unstructured and flexible design, allowing ample time for exploration, forging deeper connections with nature, and cultivating friendships.
Camp Twigs at Sanders Ferry is for children ages 5-12 years old and is one of the summer camps offered by Leadership Academy. Camp Twigs at Sanders Ferry park is operated through a permit with the Hendersonville Parks and Recreation.
Day Camp is Monday-Friday. Drop-off between 8:30 am and 9:00 am, pick-up between 3:00 pm and 3:30 pm.
Price: $415/week per child for the first week – automatic $28/week discount for each additional week! *Payment plan available at checkout for no additional fee.
Camp Begins the week of June 8th and runs through July 31.
