North Park on the Rise Community Fellowship Free Event

A.W.A.K.E. Nashville (Advocating for Wellness, Accessibility, and Knowledge of injustice facing the Elderly), a nonprofit that advocates for senior members of the community, and Legacy South, a fast growing, full-service real estate development company based in Nashville, form a strategic partnership to create more affordable housing for seniors in Nashville. The partnership was developed in response to the recent displacement of senior residents from North Park Village Senior Community in Madison, TN. To mark this new collaboration, the two organizations will host an event called “North Park on the Rise Community Fellowship Event” that provides an opportunity to reunite former North Park residents and rebuilds the community.

AWAKE Nashville Community EventThe event is set for Saturday, June 11th from 3-6pm at City Road Chapel UMC and will feature games, entertainment, face painting, balloon animals, food trucks, prizes and lots of family fun. The event is free to the public and the goal is to enhance the wellbeing of senior communities through fellowship, fun, and social engagement.

We all understand that change is inevitable, but the process of how we implement change is what makes all the difference. We must get in the community to get to know the community to better understand the community’s needs. This event will provide the opportunity to do just that.

You don’t want to miss it! There will be lots of food, games, and prizes for the entire family to enjoy.

ABOUT AWAKE NASHVILLE

A.W.A.K.E. Nashville (Advocating for Wellness, Accessibility, and Knowledge of injustice facing the Elderly) is a non-profit organization that advocates for senior members of our community who have limited resources and cannot advocate for themselves.

AWAKE Nashville was formed by Karen Holder and Danielle Cotton after spearheading the recent relocation efforts of the displaced seniors from the North Park Village Senior Community in Madison, TN. The mother-daughter duo saw a need and wanted to launch an organization to address the growing housing gap for senior residents of Nashville.

The over-arching purpose of AWAKE Nashville is to be the change agent in transforming the lives of seniors to a place of wholeness. We are dedicated to assessing each person’s individual needs in efforts to improve their ability to function as a productive, contributing members of their community.
