Dismas House of Nashville

Give a resident a Second Chance, Give to Dismas! The mission of Dismas House is to improve lives and strengthen communities by providing the formerly incarcerated with holistic reentry programming that breaks the cycle of incarceration. When returning citizens enter society successfully, we all benefit from a stronger, safer community.
Current needs: compact umbrellas; cell phones (smartphones, new or gently used), backpacks, water bottles, new or gently used work pants or jeans, basic set of tools for household repairs, ground coffee, laptops (new or gently used), gas grill, copy paper and art supplies.


Dress for Success

What would you wear to a job interview? That is exactly the type of clothing they look for to distribute to their clients. Your fabulous suits and other professional apparel could furnish another woman with the confidence to enter or return to the workplace, make a great first impression and land a job that could change her life.

Limit of 25 hanging items per donation, please.  Bring us your best 25 items!  All clothing must be brought in on hangers.  We are unable to accept bags or boxes of clothing. Accepting spring and summer styles currently! Click this link to schedule your donation appointment. Slots fill quickly!


Martha O’Bryan Center

Martha O’Bryan Center is an anti-poverty non-profit organization with a longstanding history and deep community roots, founded in 1894. Our headquarter campus sits in the East Nashville public housing campus of Cayce Place. Current wish list items can be found here. In-Kind donations are accepted at the main campus (711 South Seventh Street, Nashville, TN 37206) when our main lobby is open. It is helpful to call ahead or Email Us to let us know you are coming with a donation.


Park Center

Park Center has been serving Nashville for over 35 years, providing a place for hope and recovery for people with serious mental illness, homelessness or addiction. Current list of donations needed can be found here.


Room In the Inn

Room in the Inn seeks to provide programs that emphasize human development and recovery through education, self-help and work, centered in community and long term support for those who call the streets of Nashville home. Specific needs can be found here.


Safe Haven Family Shelter

Call: (615) 256-8195 or email: [email protected] If you have items to donate that we cannot accept, please consider donating them to Thrift Smart located at 4890 Nolensville Road. When donating, please say it is in support of Safe Haven Family Shelter. This helps us earn credits that families can use to purchase the items they need.


The Arc

Call the Arc Pick Up Service to donate your gently used clothes, tools, dishes, books, games, bikes, skateboards, and garden gnomes to the Arc of Davidson County. Your items will be sold to local thrift stores for resale. The proceeds are used to support the Arc’s services for people with developmental disabilities and their families. They will greet you with a smile and make the donation process easy. Give them a call today to schedule your next pickup at (615) 248-4112 or [email protected]. You can also visit their online scheduling page here. Having a yard sale at your church, school, or other organization?  Don’t forget to call the Arc to arrange for pick-up of your unsold items. They will be happy to arrange a pick up after your sale ends.


This ‘n That Thrift Shop

This shop has the mission of providing a source of affordable goods for local residents, a steady income for the Child Development Program at St. Luke’s Community House, and an opportunity for volunteer work. Needs include: clean usable clothing of all types for men, women, and children. (Please make sure there are no rips, tears, etc.) Check the website for other accepted items!


ThriftSmart

Needs gently-used clothing, shoes, housewares (including linens and appliances). Donations can be dropped off at 4890 Nolensville Pike in Nashville. For FREE donation pickup of larger items, call (615) 833-8200 ext 21 or submit a pickup request online.


Soles4Souls

At S4S, we turn unwanted shoes and clothing into opportunity, by keeping them from going to waste and putting them to good use – providing relief, creating jobs and empowering people to break the cycle of poverty. Check here for a drop off location or instructions on how to ship!


People Loving Nashville

This organization’s goal is to bring relief, community, connection & restoration to most vulnerable of Nashville. They provide many resources daily including meals, clothing, survival supplies, transportation, and emergency housing to the unhoused and those most at-risk in Nashville. Nashville Rescue Mission
