While Summer days on the lake might be filled with the hum of boat engines, people, and festivities, you can count on something different in the Fall. The sights and sounds of nature and the significance of relationships become the main event: cool breezes and rustling leaves in the trees, fireside moments with family and friends, and that feeling you get when the season changes and you realize all over again how much you love cool weather, sweat shirts and hot chocolate.
So, grab a blanket and sip your morning coffee on the deck, cruise the lake while you watch for wildlife on the banks, and soak up some old-fashioned quality family time fishing, playing games, and roasting s’mores by the fire. Spend your evenings enjoying back porch cookouts in the crisp air, cuddles on the couch, and hot tub dips with a blanket of stars overhead. No schedules, no commitments – just time to breath.
The stunning cabins and houseboats at Mitchell Creek Marina were fully renovated this year and sleep anywhere from 2-14 people. They are all equipped with wifi, TV, full kitchens or kitchenettes, a grill, premium linens, hot tubs – and some areas feature fire pits. Contactless check-in makes arriving at any time a breeze and for a small fee, you can bring your pet!
The property offers a marina store, a full-service restaurant (be sure to check seasonal hours), over 400 boat slips, and a variety of watercraft rentals from houseboats and pontoons to paddle boards and kayaks. (Lodging guests receive 15% off boat rentals all year long.) Special events are announced via social media. Watch out for fun Halloween happenings and be sure to ask about houseboat yoga, an amazing experience offered on some Saturday mornings.
For fishing enthusiasts, Dale Hollow Lake is known for being home to six of the top 10 smallmouth bass ever caught and features abundant largemouth, spotted bass, walleye, crappie, catfish, bluegill, shell crackers, trout, musky, and more.
